Is the Brazilian Blowout worth the money and is it safe?

I have really curly hair. My stylist recommended it for me. I'm hesitant because I've heard that it contains a lot of formaldehyde and that it's bad for the hair. But the brochure my stylist gave me said it didn't contain formaldehyde and that it's actually good for the hair because it conditions it. Any thoughts from people who have done the Brazilian Blowout? I'm almost 15, btw.
