Opinions for my story?

Hello Answer people! I was hoping that you could read the first 'chapter' of my book! I'll give you the summary: Joey is a 13 year old child prodigy, unfortunately he was orphaned 5 years ago. Leaving him to live with his only remaining relative, his grandfather. When his grandfather becomes fatally ill and dies in the hospital, Joey is sent to an orphanage. When Joey arrives at the orphanage, it is not at all like the brochure described! The story of a group of desperate orphans unfolds!.....Or at least I hope it does! Since this is my very first story I would like your opinion pretty please!
