Is putting a PS3 slim on a piece of cardboard while ON OK?

It'll have a small amount of clearance but it will heat up, I've got mine standing on it's side to improve cooling. It shouldn't be a huge issue as long as there's nothing obstructing the vent. Just keep an eye on it.
