How much does a typical private healthcare plan for a couple with say one kid cost in the US?

Actually, it is a similar cost. We have a very good comprehensive plan that covers prescriptions, hosptialization, mental health..and the cost for a family is around $1100 per month. It does not matter if you have one child or five, the cost of a family paln is the same. Insurance companies do have a One Adult/One Child option which is less but I don't recall how much less. Dental insurance is actually pretty cheap and a family can get a good plan for $100/month
